Clue: What We Do in the Shadows

review by K

Clue has always been one of my favorites of the classic board games, and if you know me, you know I also love anything to do with vampires. What We Do in the Shadows is one of my favorite vampire tv shows, so the combination of Clue and What We Do in the Shadows was an obvious choice for me to pick up and try out. I played this version of Clue with someone who has never played Clue before, but is also a fan of the tv show, and it was very easy for me to explain the basic mechanics of Clue and for them to understand how the game works and how to play.

In Clue: What We Do in the Shadows, Laszlo's cursed 100% witch-skin hat has gone missing and someone is responsible for hiding it from among the characters Nadja, Colin Robinson, Nandor the Relentless, The Guide, Guillermo de la Cruz, and even Laszlo Cravensworth himself. Unlike regular Clue where you must find the killer, the location the murder took place, and the weapon used, this version requires players to find out who took the cursed witch-skin hat, which room in the house it is being hidden in, and which object is being used to obscure it, such as a hollowed out book or Nadja’s doll. The basics of Clue are used as the mechanics, so it is easy enough to pick up if you’re already familiar with that game.

All-in-all, if you’re a fan of both Clue and the tv show What We Do in the Shadows, this game is a great fit for you, or a great gift for any fan. It’s a fun little deduction mystery game that is different every single time you play.
