It's Game On For 2024: Our Playbook!

Hello, and welcome to a new year and the second edition of our 2023 recap!! We have New Year's Resolutions as a store that are beyond your average resolution…

We’ll share awesome new community offerings to our community, along with a more in depth article going over plans and changes from the past year.

Let’s dive right into it!

Conventions

We are going to more conventions each year, and we have some exciting ones coming up. We are definitely going to local cons like Kublacon and Dundracon, but we are also traveling across the country to Indianapolis for GenCon and Philadelphia for PAX Unplugged (Sergio pictured below with Bernie from Dead Alive Games!). 

That’s not all though—Gamescape is going international this year, hitting Essen Spiel in Germany. 

We love being able to connect with gamers from all across the globe, and want to bring back games from everywhere to our community.

Streaming

Speaking of wider access to the games we all love, we are still working on posting to more online platforms. We are so stoked to start streaming and posting YouTube videos, potentially along with other platforms. We will share battle reports of miniature games, learn-to-play tutorials and so much more to the community beyond the Bay Area. This will also make some intense games more approachable, bringing more people to our table. You can look forward to joining our streams soon!

Events

We are always looking for ways to improve and increase our event offerings. We are investing in different ways to improve our events to ensure they run as smoothly as possible.

Recently, we held our first LGBTQ+ game day, and we're planning to doing it bimonthly! The next one will be March 30th, so stay tuned.

We'll also be hosting more trading card game tournaments, themed RPG events, and of course, our regular programming with board game nights, Warhammer Days and more. Check out our Upcoming Events page for a full sampling of we have in store.

Game Makers

Speaking of community creations, we always are looking to promote local game makers. Feel free to come to our Protospiel Nights, where you can play test games and meet other local makers! Or if you want to be a developer at our protospiel nights, email media@gamescapesf.com.

Community Outreach

Of course, we wouldn’t be here without our fantastic community. We want to ensure that everything that we are doing is for the community, so we’d like to open the conversation of Gamescape improvements. What do you think we could do better?
